Program: Build a ColdFusion / Flex application from the ground up
Wednesday, August 18, 2010
"Have you ever wanted to know how to build a ColdFusion / Flex application from the ground up? In our next series of monthly meetings we will tackle this. We will build a Widget for our own website http://www.occfug.org/ that keeps track of our members attendance to our meetings, members participation, drawing opportunities, prize winners and eligibility all in a coldfusion powered Flex web-application.
"Now that we have an understanding of table structures, in our next meeting we will start building our ColdFusion powered Flex Application by creating a project in Flash Builder, Setting up Coldfusion server to use or data source and we will start building our Flex interface which will work with our widget design, remember our widget will be used by www.occfug.org to help our user group keep track of attendance and also help us manage our Adobe prize eligibility and distribution software. Save the date as we start digging into our Flex app powered by ColdFusion."

ColdFusion and Flash Integration OC ColdFusion - Thursday, February 18 +
Meeting topic rescheduled from last month! As a continuing special promotion, this month's meeting will be FREE of charge, with Pizza, Soda, and Snacks too, compliments of OCMMA and roundpeg! This month we’re going to discuss an example of an integrated use of ColdFusion and Flash. We will create a form in Flash, validate it with Action Script 3, and pass the form values over to ColdFusion to send an Email and enter the form fields into a database. For Flash Developers/Designers, you will learn how to create a form with dynamic text input, how to pass it to the server, and what you can do with the information when it gets there. You will also have a chance to network with some server geeks who may be able to help you with some heavy lifting on the back end for some of your projects. For ColdFusion Developers, we will explore some lightweight alternatives to FLEX Forms or CFFORM format=flash. You will also get a chance to meet some designers who can give your next project some extra pizzazz. The meeting is FREE, the FOOD is FREE! Come join us! Meeting Location We'll be meeting at roundpeg, a technology training and consulting company with a location in Newport Beach near the Orange County Airport. You don't have to enter the Wells Fargo lobby to enter the roundpeg office. Parking is available on site. You won't have to pay for parking, just take a ticket and enter.
