OCMMA's General Meeting is Expanding!

Welcome to OCMMA's new Adobe User Group!

General Meeting/Creative Suite User Group - Tuesday, March 16

The new Creative Suite User Group - Orange County (CS-OC) will meet every third Tuesday of the month, in concert with the General Meeting of OCMMA. The goal of this group is to continue to provide local designers and developers with a forum for learning from speakers and from each other about how best to leverage the power of Adobe applications in their business workflows. Meetings will continue to feature presentations by Adobe specialists, business entrepreneurs, camera and hardware pro's, and others. Topics will focus on current developments in multimedia, web technology, and the digital arts and will be selected to have appeal across the various multimedia disciplines. Cynthia Gordon is the Manager of CS-OC.

In addition, every month we'll dive into some aspect of the Adobe Creative Suite, with a special focus on ways to streamline your workflow and jump back and forth among apps to get your work done. We'll have a special segment at each meeting called: "Creative Suite Treats", where a 5 to 10 minute demo will highlight a particular tool or technique in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks, etc.

How many friends and family members regretfully tell you that they can not attend the memorial service of a loved one due to travel costs or time constraints? Come to our meeting and find out how MemorialWebcasts offers a solution that relieves friends and family of the stress and regrets from the inability to attend, by providing a live, streaming video webcast via the MemorialWebcasts website.

Our speaker, Lou Lipschultz, is the Founder and President of LetsGoEXPO and United Webcast. He will explain how MemorialWebcasts, which operates under the umbrella of United Webcast, can provide an alternative to live attendance at a memorial service. Lou will also discuss solutions for other web-based events such as online meetings, webcasts, e-learning, and "Webinars." He will also share how LetsGoEXPO makes available accessible web conferencing, online learning, and event management for individuals with varying disabiities, such as hearing impaired, and blind or visually impaired.

Lou is an entrepreneur and a licensed eye doctor. After building a highly successful eye practice in the south suburbs of Chicago, Lou found himself attracted to the business side of health care. First he formed Vision Rehab, Inc., a management firm that manages low vision care within ophthalmology and optometry practices. Vision Rehab became one of the leading suppliers of low vision devices in the midwest. As a result, he was offered, and he accepted, the CEO position of Pulse Data International (now HumanWare) in 2000.

He left HumanWare in 2004 to found an internet portal for the low vision and blindness industry (OcuSource.com, LLC). To support the marketing needs of the blindness marketplace, he created a "virtual tradeshow" to bring the content to the attendee, solving many issues including costs of travel and lodging, significant limiting factors for this financially challenged market. That event had over 11,000 live attendees and generated over 100,000 downloaded audio or video files. Let'sGoEXPO, an accessible online event and media management system, was born. Lou founded United Webcast, LLC in 2010 as a webcasting technology and service provider for various markets, including Memorial Webcasts.

Lou has spoken around the world on topics of low vision, vision diseases, accessible technology, as well as accessible website design. He is the former CEO of one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of low vision and blindness hardware and software.

Biography:

The love for storytelling has never changed. However, the forum has expanded from writing to moving pictures. After earning his bachelor’s degree in print journalism from Cal State University, Fullerton, Joe joined the U.S. Navy and worked in military public affairs. While he served for five years, writing articles expanded to photography, newspaper editing, Web site creation, event planning, and video production. Joe eventually graduated from Regent University in Virginia Beach with a master’s degree in cinema-television production. Since 2005, he has worked on numerous films, documentaries, commercials, infomercials, and Web-based video, honing skills in script writing, videography, lighting, sound, editing, and DVD output.

Joe understands that a great production begins with great writing. a skill set that, at its best use,  commands a viewer’s interest and attention. To command that attention, Joe works with clients to refine and clarify ideas to deliver a visual message that helps expand your business and draws potential customers to you. He wants clients to feel strongly about the message that they deliver, and for that visual message to be expressed clearly, emphatically, and with impact.
