Orange County Multimedia Association Monthly Meetings

General Meeting

Our monthly general meetings include educational presentations and networking, focused on current developments in multimedia, web technology, and the digital arts. Special guests and members share tips and techniques for popular digital applications, showcase computer hardware & software and camera equipment, and discuss best business practices for multimedia professionals, especially those who are developing their own enterprises.

Topics are selected to have appeal across the various multimedia disciplines. The General meeting takes place on the third Tuesday of every month. The fee for non-members is $15, or $7 for students with ID, and includes food.

OC Flash

OC Flash is an official Adobe User Group, offering not only presentations on Flash and related software, but Adobe-sponsored software bundles as raffle prizes twice a year, as well. This meeting is open to designers and developers of all skill levels, from beginning to advanced. Tips and techniques are demonstrated by OC Flash members as well as outside speakers.  Dave Salahi is the Manager of this SIG, and Mike McGready is the Co-Manager. OC Flash meets on the first Tuesday of every month The fee for non-OCMMA members is $10, or $5 for students. Visit the OC Flash website for more information.

Digital Video

The Digital Video Special Interest Group (SIG) brings together presentations on video editing and special effects software, including Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, and Adobe After Effects. Members share their experiences with video taping and using related software tools such as Adobe Photoshop. Camera equipment, both still and video, is also demonstrated and reviewed. Terry Syndergaard is the Manager of this SIG, which meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month. The fee for non-OCMMA members is $10, or $5 for students.

Orange County Cold Fusion User's Group

OC Cold Fusion, or OCCFUG, is an official Adobe User Group, and benefits from Adobe-sponsored software bundle giveaways twice a year. The focus of this Special Interest Group is to discuss server-side development using Adobe's Cold Fusion language. Steve Farwell is the Manager of this SIG, and Cynthia Gordon is the Co-Manager. Web – Video Crossroads

Focus: Video on the Web and Mobile Devices

The mission of the Web – Video Crossroads group will be to enhance our member's abilities to excel in the sweet spot of business and creative opportunity where the worlds of web and video come together. Web professionals who want to expand their knowledge of video and video pros with a curiosity about what goes on in the Web side of things. This official Adobe User Group will look at ways to profit at the "crossroads" for our sites, our clients'  sites, as well as, mine the opportunities presented by social networking communities. Topics will include software and hardware tools and technologies, creative techniques and even business models. Mike McGready is the Manager of this group, the newest of the OCMMA SIGs. The Web – Video Crossroads meets on the second Thursday of every month. Normally, admission will be $10 for non-OCMMA members ($5 for students). This fee is being waived during an introductory period for this exciting new group.

The Web Video Crossroads SIG addresses all aspects of video on the web and mobile devices. Web designers, web developers, and video/audio producers are welcome to discuss the latest developments in this fast-changing industry.
